Cancellation policy
- A cancellation fee equivalent to one (1) night’s stay applies if canceled 22 to 45 days prior to arrival date.
- A cancellation fee equivalent to two (2) nights’ stay applies if canceled 8 to 21 days prior to arrival date.
- 100% of total room charge if canceled 7 days or less prior to arrival date.
Approved refunds will be provided via check only and mailed to the address on file. For any paid amount that is higher than $250, an approved refund will be provided minus a 3% credit card fee.
All units are non-smoking
Smoking is prohibited in all units by Hawaii state law, and smoking is not allowed on the lanais (private balconies).
Rates, reservations, and payments
Standard rates do not include 17.962% total taxes, or cleaning fee, if applicable.
The TOTAL amount is defined as rent + cleaning fee + General Excise Tax of 4.712%, Transient Accommodations Tax of 10.25% and Maui County Transient Tax of 3%.
Payment may be made via personal or certified check or credit card. If using a credit card, payment can be processed online at time of reservation or by emailing info@sunnymauivacations.com requesting a payment link or by calling our office 808-240-1311, extension 21.
Vacation rental insurance
Vacation Rental Travel Insurance and Vacation Rental Damage Insurance has been made available with your reservation, via Generali Global Assistance. Vacation Rental Insurance reimburses for prepaid, non-refundable expenses due to certain unforeseeable circumstances that may jeopardize your vacation investment and force you to incur unplanned expenses. We strongly recommend you purchase this valuable protection.
If not purchased, you acknowledge you have read and understand our cancellation policy and choose not to purchase Vacation Rental Insurance on behalf of all occupants.
Rentals to responsible adults and family groups only
A parent or legal guardian 21 years of age or older must accompany any Guests under 21 years of age. Sunny Maui Vacations will not rent to high school or college groups. Sunny Maui Vacations reserves the right to immediately terminate or reject rental, without refund, if in our opinion the tenant has violated these policies or determines that the conduct of tenant(s) are detrimental to the property.
Responsibility for children / minors
Adults traveling with children and minors are solely responsible for them and their actions. There is no lifeguard on duty at the pool or hot tub.
Maximum occupancy
Exceeding the Maximum Occupancy published for the property with either overnight guests or day guests, is not permitted. If you exceed the maximum capacity you will be required to find alternate accommodations for the extra guests.
Check-in / check-out
The rental period begins at 3:00 PM on the day of arrival and terminates at 11:00 AM on the day of departure for our condominium rentals and is set at 4:00 PM arrival and 11:00 AM departure for our rental homes.
The property is professionally cleaned and inspected before and after each rental to ensure that all guests have a comfortable stay.
Please note that additional expenses may be incurred if excessive cleaning is required to return the unit to rentable condition.
We cannot guarantee an early check-in or late check-out. We will accommodate these requests when possible but often cannot make this determination until time of visit as all properties are subject to additional booking at all times. Late check-outs that are not pre-approved may be subject to additional charges.
Keys
For your safety and security, all units have been equipped with keyless entries. The code is changed prior to each guest’s arrival.
Parking
Please follow parking instructions provided in our Welcome Letter. Sunny Maui Vacations assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage to your vehicle or its contents. Parking is at your own risk.
Losses and damages
We have learned that our vacationers do not travel hundreds of miles to damage a condo rental unit. At the same time, experience tells us accidents can and do happen. If such loss or damage does occur, Sunny Maui Vacations will charge an appropriate amount to the credit card on file unless a Damage Protection was in effect.
It will assist in expediting this process if you report any known losses or damages prior to your checking out.
Vacation rental damage protection
As a part of your stay, you may purchase a Vacation Rental Damage Protection plan designed to cover unintentional damages to the rental unit interior that occur during your stay provided they are disclosed to management prior to check-out. If purchased, the policy will pay a maximum benefit of $1500. Any damages that exceed the $1500 Policy Limit or are not covered under the plan will be charged to the credit card on file. If, during your stay at one of our rental properties, an insured person causes any damage to real or personal property of the unit as a result of inadvertent acts or omissions, the Insurer will reimburse the Insured for the cost of repair or replacement of such property up to a maximum benefit of $1500. Certain terms and conditions apply.
Full details of the Vacation Rental Damage coverage are contained in the Description of Coverage or Insurance Policy www.vacationrentalinsurance.com/g20vrd. The Vacation Rental Damage plan can be purchased up to, and including at, check-in. By submitting payment for this plan, you authorize and request Generali Travel Protection to pay directly Sunny Maui Vacations any amount payable under the terms and conditions of the Vacation Rental Damage. Please contact Sunny Maui Vacations directly if you wish to participate in this plan.
Amenities and furnishings
All properties are individually owned and decorated to owners’ personal liking. Our published photography should be an accurate or similar representation of the furnishings present.
For your convenience, all properties are equipped with a starter package of standard toiletries and consumables which are intended to last for at least one day.
Please be aware there is no daily maid service provided during your stay. Interim cleaning can be arranged for you at an additional cost and will require 48 hours’ notice.
Pet policy
Pets are not allowed in any of the units.
Noise
We love our Guests and want nothing more than for them to have a good time, but loud and unruly tenants will not be tolerated. Please observe quiet hours as noted in the Guest Information Binder specific to each complex or home. All registered Guests and visitors are required to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with local, state, and federal governmental laws. Complaints from neighbors of unruliness or excessive noise are grounds for eviction without refund.
Things beyond our control
Our staff works very hard to make sure your stay is happy and comfortable. However, there are some things that are out of our control. Sunny Maui Vacations accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage or alteration to the terms of your reservation caused by events beyond our control. Examples of these types of things that are out of our control include: breakdown of air conditioners, TV’s and other electronics and appliances, satellite/cable television, Internet (including loss of signal), construction nearby, beaches being unusable due to acts of nature, a condo not decorated to your tastes, disturbances by neighbors, insects or pests, war, terrorist activity, civil commotion, flight delays or cancellations, airport or road closures, adverse weather conditions, fire, flood, or industrial dispute.
Sunny Maui Vacations cannot accept any liability for failure of public supplies such as water, electricity, air conditioning or failure of the swimming pool equipment. Nor for the consequences of the actions or omissions of persons who may control or supply main services, or any actions taken in the vicinity of the property reserved, by any authority over which there is no control.
This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Should you experience any problems whatsoever with the property during your stay, please contact Sunny Maui Vacations, and we will do our best to assist and rectify the matter as soon as it is practically possible. In the event we can offer a reactive solution to unexpected and unforeseeable inconveniences by way of repair we will always exercise the utmost diligence to do so.
Access
Sunny Maui Vacations and/or authorized employee or repairman may enter the premises during normal business hours to repair, or inspect property. Efforts will be made to contact guest prior to such entry, if possible.
Disputes / liability
Agent and or Owner shall not be liable for damages resulting from injury to any person or any person’s property in connection with this Rental Agreement or while on the premises. TENANTS agree to indemnify and hold harmless Agent and/or Owner from any liability, loss or obligation resulting from any such injuries or damages.
Beach toys / liability
Agent and or Owner shall not be liable for damages resulting from injury to any person in connection with this Rental Agreement while using the beach equipment. Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless Agent and/or Owner from any liability, loss or obligation resulting from any such injuries. Tenants are aware that beach activities can be hazardous and are voluntarily using the beach toys and equipment with knowledge of the danger involved.
Sublet
The unit CANNOT be sublet, shared or assigned. Only the persons shown on the booking form are permitted to stay in the property. If deemed necessary, we will remove unauthorized guests from the property, without reimbursement, and we will not be liable for the cost of alternative accommodations.
Agreed
Providing full payment to confirm the reservation constitutes that Guests have carefully read this agreement, fully understand its content and warrants that Guests accept the terms and conditions outlined herein, and that they will ensure that all of the members of the party will adhere to the House Rules**.
