There are two awesome facts about Halloween this year on Maui:

1. It falls on a Saturday, which means you can really let loose and party, and
2. It’s Maui — one of the best places on Earth to celebrate All Hallow’s Eve!

The Huge, Obvious Halloween Party on Front Street in Lahaina

It’s called the “Mardi Gras of the Pacific” not because of its size (25,000 people is pretty big but nowhere near actual Mardi Gras big), but because of the wild, eclectic, unbridled fun to be had.

The streets are closed to motorized traffic and everyone gets in costume and lets loose. If you’re the party type, you have no excuse not to be walking around Lahaina Front Street this Halloween.

There’s also a costume contest between 7-9 under the banyan tree, as well as a Keiki parade at 4:30pm. Get all the juicy details here.

Kings of Spade w/ DJ Fishshot and Fishtank

Join Oahu band Kings of Spade and special guests for a night of “high octane rock ‘n roll,” drink specials, photo booth and dead celebrity costume theme.

Proclaiming to be the “Best Halloween Party on Maui,” Mulligans will feature music by the Lonely Hearts Beatles Tribute Band, DJ Monkey Mike and, of course, a costume contest (get 1/2 off cover with costume) for Best Beatle Lookalike, Best Irish Costume and Best Original costume.

The Halloween-at-your-local-mall experience is usually retty tame and freindly, which means it’s perfect for families with small children hoping to avoid getting scared.

Enjoy Halloween magic from Holden Mowat, trick-or-treating, face painting, crafts and the famous keiki costume contest. Safe and air-conditioned!

Willie K, sidewalk magic with Brenton Keith and Timothy Wenk, trick-or-treat candy and games with prizes and of course — a costume contest.

Halloween at Queen Ka’ahumanu Center

Store to store trick-or-treating for kids 12 and younger, with the added bonuses of the Teal Pumpkin Project (toys instead of candy), “Trick-or-Read” by the Maui Friends of the Library and a candy buyback program for charity November 1-5 ($1/lb — smart kids will cash in!).

Enchanted Floral Garden Wicked Woods Walk

A 1/2 loop trail walk through 8 acres of woods. Sounds pretty creepy, especially when their website says this: “Be afraid. BE VERY AFRAID. If you dare walk through the wicked woods you will encounter inescapable horrors.”

Enter if you dare into the Hyatt’s annual “maze of terror.” It’s a 10-minute adventure complete with creepy costumes, suitable for all ages. Bonus: 100% of proceeds benefit the 2016 Charity Walk.

This unique Halloween event is billed as an “Interactive Outdoor Haunted Theater” featuring Paia Pan, Captain Cook, & Tiger Liliuokalani in the darkest tales of Neverland. Sounds pretty cool!

Legendary Xterra Halloween Costume Party

Following the awards dinner of the historic 20th running of the Xterra world championships in Kapalua (it’s a gnarly elite off-road triathlon), you can enjoy an equally gnarly costume party, where you’re encouraged to “party like it’s 1996.” Best costume wins XTERRA 10′ Stand Up Paddle Board.
